Example Tour: Winter wildlife in the Pyrenees
Wildcats, Chamois, Otter, Lammergeier, Golden eagle, Wallcreeper, Snowfinch, Alpine accentor, Migrating Cranes and Birds of Prey
Winter is a good time for seeing large mammals – we know some good places to spot Wildcat which are fairly common here in the Pyrenees. Also we often see Pyrenean chamois, Wild boar and Otter in the rivers. It´s wonderful to see foxes hunting in the snow also.
Lammergeier, Griffon vulture and Golden eagle are always present and the high altitude Alpine accentor and Snowfinch come down low during bad weather.
Spotting can be from hides or out snowshoeing or walking. We supply a telescope and can accommodate photographers.
